Winsor & Newton’s Iridescent Medium for watercolours is a fantastic tool that can be used in two ways. First, you can mix the medium into wet color for a shimmery effect that also makes the color slightly lighter. The second way to use this medium is to paint it on top of dry watercolor. This layer of iridescent shimmer also catches the light but does not create a lighter tint of the original color. When mixed with watercolor, this medium gives an iridescent, glittery effect.
