Solarfast Starter Kit

This exciting starter kit offers possibilites for both DIY fashion and fine arts paper prints. Create one-of-a-kind prints quickly and easily using the SolarFast film and dyes on T-shirts, textiles, or paper. No darkroom required! Printing on fabric has never been easier: no heat, steam, or chemical setting needed, and it leaves fabric completely soft to the touch. On paper, SolarFast has zero relief and offers ultimate detail. SolarFast is washable, lightfast, and archival.

SolarFast can also be used to created photograms, shadow prints, and ombres on fabric and paper. Others will find it ideal for painting and tie dyeing.

The SolarFast Starter Kit is designed for ages 8 and up and includes three sheets of SolarFast Film to create your negative image, three 2 oz bottles of SolarFast dyes (orange, violet, and blue), and one 2 oz bottle of SolarFast Wash. The kit also comes with a Jacquard Film Marker for drawing designs, six small sponges, eight T-pins, gloves, backerboard, cotton test fabric, and instructions.

You'll provide your own fabric or paper for your prints. A sheet of clear glass may be useful to press your film smoothly and evenly across the printing surface to achieve a crisp image during sun exposure. Glass not included.
